7th NYG: Twenty Seven States Have So Far Registered With The Sport Ministry

Reports say twenty seven states have so far registered and set to participate at the forthcoming National Youth Games in Asaba the Delta state capital.

This was disclosed by the Public Relation Officer of Kano State Sports commission, Ibrahim Galadima in a circular released early hours of today.

Galadima also affirmed that, screening of athletes will commenced today Friday the 22nd of September, 2023 at the indoor sports Hall, Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba by 10am prompt.

Athletes are therefore advised to come along with their various means of identification especially National Identification Number (NIN) as well as other supporting documents.

Para Table Tennis as well as weight lifting are said to be the games to officially kick start the multi sporting event.

So far, host Delta State, Kano, Anambra, Benue, Adamawa and Plateau, the FCT, were among the states that have registered with the sports ministry and local organizing committee.

Report also emmerged that, there shall also be joint meeting with the state directors of sport, MOC and LOC later today by 6pm.

Host Delta State were known for winning the competition back to back after its maiden edition in till 2021, since its inception in 2013.

Kano state finishes 18th on the log in the last edition of the sporting event with one Gold, four silver and three bronze medals.
