AGILE: Kano to Benefits Large Grand if Successfully Implement Small One — Kofi Akpan

The monitoring team of the Adolescent Girls Initiative Learning and Empowerments AGILE project have experience confidence that Kano state may benefits large Grand of the projects if successfully implemented small grand.

The team Leader Mr. Kofi Akpan stated this in an interview with journalist while monitoring the renovation of toilet and water supply and sanitations equipment WASH at various secondary school that are currently undertaking the projects.

Kofi Akpan said they are in Kano for a routine monitoring excercise and access the level of projects completion and if necessary make observations for necessary corrections.

According to him Kano is utalizing the small Grand which is meant for the provision of WASH equipments ranging from provision of water, functional toilets, school fornitures, teaching and learning material TLMs among others, adding that they have so per satisfied with the level of implantation of the projects.

He said Kano is on the verge of reaching the objective of the projects, saying that very soon the state will finish implementation of small grand which subsequently qualify her for moving to large grands which all participating states to undertake general renovation of school infrastructure.

The team leader then urged principals to stick to school improvement plans SIP, work closely with school based Management committee SBMC as well as laise with state project coordinating units so as to achieved the sate objectives.

Though many state are aspiring to be on board, the currently participating states are Borno, Akwa-ibom, Plateau, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Kebbi state.

In a remark, the acting AGILE project coordinator in Kano Nasiru Abdullahi Kwalli Said the project centered on identification of prevelent Chellengies in secondary schools in Kano especially the problem of water supply and hygiene as well as addressing the identify problem for the improvement of Girls child education.

According to him all the secondary schools were asked to submit their schools improvement plans which guide the project to allocate funds for renovations of class rooms, toilets, provisions of sanitation facilities among others as

He said all public secondary schools in Kano were divided into two phases, “the first phase is a total of 614 Girls and boys school have been given grants, while the second phase another 614 public secondary schools different from the previous ones were also given the same grands which comparieses of $8,000 or $12,000 or $16,000 difending on the needful Chellengies”.

He also said another moboff grands will be given to the secondary schools established after annual census of the schools and based line was taken from 2018 to 2019.

Nasiru Kwalli Also said the project gives special regards to Tudun Maliki special education school as the students was too congested and lacks chairs in some classrooms and other challenges which trouble educational systems.

He called on journalist who are interesting in track all works engligthen the general public about the activities of AGILE.
