ASUU Strike: Islamic Cleric Calls FG For Lasting Solution

An Islamic Cleric based in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital Dr. Muhammad Tukur Sani Jangebe has called on federal government (FG) to find lasting solutions to Academic Staff Union of University’s ASUU problems to prevent them from facing another nationwide industrial action.

Dr. Tukur Jangebe made the call in Gusau while delivering his Friday sermon at the Muslims Foundation Jumuaat mosque, Anka Road GRA Gusau.

He said the agreement reached by ASUU and federal government must be fulfill to enable them to discharge their responsibilities effectively.

The Chief imam who is also the state commissioner for religious affairs advocate for Muslims Ummah to seek for western and islamic knowledge to enable them to become useful members of their respective societies.

He also called on them to allowed their children to acquire education for them to benefit here and hereafter as well as to be able to stand on their feets.

Dr. Jangebe who also quoted verses from the Holy Quran and the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him to support his argument.

He also urged government at all levels to desist from misplacement of priority in government ministry’s, Departments and agencies as well as appointment of person with deficiency, incapability and weakness.

He attributed the recent security challenges bedvailing the state and the country in general to lack of obedience to Allah SWT and illiteracy that circulate among the people especially in the northern region

The Chief imam also urged Muslims to continue with prayers for prequent peace to prevail in the State and the country at large.
