Bauchi Varsity Convocation Holds Maiden Convocation, Graduates 7,543 Students in 10 Years

The Bauchi State University Gadau has conferred with various degrees to over seven thousand five hundred graduands of the University.

This comprised one hundred and eighty four students that distinguished themselves with first class degrees in various academic fields, while others are certified to have completed academic courses in postgraduate Diploma, Master of Sciences, Master of Arts and Doctorate Degrees after ten years of the University’s establishment.

The Governing Council and Senate of the University equally conferred Honorary Doctorate Degrees to some deserving personalities including Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State for their contributions to the development of the University, education sector and humanity.

The University’s Vice Chancellor Professor Fatima Tahir who announced this during the Maiden combined Convocation Ceremony of university mentioned other personalities to include the Emir of Bauchi Dr. Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu who is the chancellor of the University, Emir of Katagum Umar Faruq II, Former Bauchi State Governor Malam Isah Yuguda and Late Malam Sa’idu Zungur.

Professor Fatima Tahir congratulated parents, graduands, awardees, staff and management for the university for their collective sacrifices towards achieving the great success.

Also Speaking, the State Governor Bala Mohammed commended university management for maintaining peaceful atmosphere in the campus and expressed commitment of his administration to support the institution towards developing new ideas that would address security challenges within and outside the state.

Bala Mohammed while acknowledging the foresight of the former Governor Malam Isa Yusuf in establishing the University noted that arrangements have been made for conduct of education summit next week to provide Road Map that would further improve on the existing structure.

The event has in attendance dignitaries from within and outside the state including Emirs from the six Emirate Councils across the state.
