The Director General, Kano State Bureau for Land Management, Dr Zainab Ibrahim Braji has called on the parents to encourage their daughters to study survey and other technical courses.
Dr. Braji stated this when she received the executive members of women in surveying, Kano state branch who paid her a courtesy visit.
In a statement signed by public Relations Officer of the board Murtala Shehu Umar Dr. Zainab Braji explained that having more women in surveying and other technical field will reduce the unemployment rate we have not in the state in particular but the whole country in general.
“we need to support our children especially the female one’s to study Survey, Architecture, Urban and regional planning and Quantity survey because of their importances to the society.” Dr. Braji emphasized.
The Director General therefore, urged them to conduct an awareness campaign in career guidance in Girls secondary schools on the importance of studying survey and the requirements needed.
Speaking earlier, the state coordinator women in surveying Kano state branch, Surveyor A’isha Ibrahim Musa said they were at the bureau to intimate the Director General on their mission and vision of having more women surveyors.
She noted that in the last one decade alot of Surveyors have retired from the state civil service and left a vacuum which cannot easily be filled.
During the visit they presented an award of excellence to the Director General.
