Fire Engulfs Hundreds of Shops in Gwarzo LG Market

Hundreds of traders were reported to have lost their properties worth millions of Naira in a fire disaster that gutted many shops in Gwarzo town,Gwarzo local government market of Kano state.

The fire incident happened last Monday 25th December 2023 has thrown the victims into critical condition as many of them were seen crying and lamenting the lost of their main source of daily livelihood.

Confirming the incident Zonal information Officer in charge of Gwarzo Rabi’u Khalil the spoke person of Kano State Fire Service Comrade Saminu Abdullahi Sa’id, the fire started at the midnight of Sunday and took their men up to Monday morning before they finally put it off.

He explained that, Hundreds of shops were completely razed down by the inferno, properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed, but there was no injury or lost of life as the results of the incident.

In his comment one of the victims, Dayyabu Lawan Bala said he lost business properties worth over 5 million naira he than called on government and wealthy people to assist them.

Among the early sympathizers that visit the scene are member representing Gwarzo Federal Constituency Abdulahi Muazu Babangandu and donated the sum of five hundred thousand naira to the victims.
