Former FRCN Staff, Tanimu Runka, Dies in Katsina

The death has occurred of a former staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Kaduna National Station, Alhaji Tanimu Runka.

Aged sixty-five, the deceased is survived by his wife and fifteen children.

He has since been buried according to Islamic rites at the Gidan-Dawa burial ground in Katsina, the funeral was attended by hundreds of sympathizers that include family, friends, acquaintances and well-wishers.

Sympathizers that trooped to his residence to condole with his family described him as a jovial, honest and trustworthy man.

Until his death, Alhaji Tanimu Runka was a Member, Katsina State Teachers’ Service Board.

He had also worked with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Kaduna National Station, where he served as a producer of the popular Hausa magazine programme ‘Jakar Magori’ and later as General Manager, Companion FM Katsina before he retired as an Assistant Director Programmes at the station’s zonal headquarters in Kaduna.
