Foundation Grants N15,000 Loan to Over 1,000 Widows in Garko LGA

The Garko Orphans Foundation {GOF} has granted Fifteen thousand Naira loans to over one thousand and forty Widows, drawn from the ten {10} wards across the area.

This was contained in a statement signed by Information officer of the local council Abdu Sabo Gyadi-gyadi, which was made available to Radio Nigeria Pyramid FM Kano.

The statement said the chairman of the foundation Dr Haruna Musa Garko made the discloser at the foundation’s 3rd Annual General Meeting held in Garko local government secondary school.

Dr Garko said, the loans was aimed at encouraging the widows to be self-reliance, and contribute their quota in improving small and medium business in the council which subsequently reduce poverty and generate employment.

He recalled that, over one hundred and eighty {180} Orphans benefited from school uniforms, while over one hundred {100} sacks of Millet and Maize were distributed to widows in the area.

The chairman of the foundation said the benefitting wards including: Dal, Garko, Garin-ali, Gurjiya, Kafin-malamai, Katumari, Kwas, Raba, Sarina and Zakarawa.

Dr Haruna Garko then called on people to support Orphans, less privileges and widows in their localities, saying by doing that, according to him brings God’s Mercy.

He, enjoined people to support the foundation and co-operate with local administration to achieved the desired objectives.

In a remark, the former interior minister General Abdurahaman Bello Dambazau and renowned political figure from the council, Alhaji Sule Yahaya Hamma promised to accorded maximum towards the success of the organization, urging others to emulate the gesture.
