Kano state government has spent over 50 million for the procurement of free maternal and Accident and Emergency commodities for the month of August in the state.
The state commissioner for health Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf announced this during the flag off of the distribution of the commodities.
He said Kano government has prioritized health sector especially children under Five and women.
Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf pointed out that, during the month of July a total number of 5,888 delivery has been recorded in the state hospitals.
He further said During the month 5,670 babies delivery, 530 Ceazerian Surgery, 34,469 miscarriage and 15,213 pregnant women attended Antinal care.
The commissioner also said the commodities will be use in both primary and secondary Healthcare facilities across the state that includes Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Nuhu Bamalli Hospital, General Hospitals from Danbatta, Wudil, Gezawa, Minjibir, Tudun Wada and Bichi local government areas as well as primary Healthcare centres from Gwagwarwa, Ja’en and Dala.
In his speech the Executive secretary state Hospitals management Board Dr. Mansur Nagoda the committee has been set up to oversee the distribution of commodities which is free of Charge for maternal mortality, children under Five, Accident and Emergency cases.
