Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has sworn in three newly appointed commissioners in the ministries of information, justice, and local government and chieftaincy affairs after eight months of assuming office as governor, to bring the total number of commissioners in the state to twenty nine.

The three new Commissioners are Mr Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, Senior Advocate of Nigeria as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice; Doctor Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza, Commissioner for Information, and Prince Kelly Penawou, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Governor Oborevwori urged the Commissioners to lead by example by being role models in their respective ministries.

He assured residents of the state that with the distraction of the court cases over, his administration was poised to fully focus on the business of advancing Delta State through accelerated infrastructural development, more job opportunities, improved learning in schools, and better working conditions for workers in the public service.

The Delta State Governor noted that the state was ranked first among states in the country in Criminal Justice Reforms by the Abuja-based Centre for Socio-Legal Studies.

Governor Oborevwori said the state achieved the feat following the passage of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2022, and Administration of Civil Justice Law 2022 by the State House of Assembly under his leadership as Speaker.

He challenged the new Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice to sustain the state’s pace setter role in Criminal Justice Reforms, saying that Delta state criminal justice laws are adjudged widely to be twenty first century- compliant, especially with recourse to technology.

He urged all political appointees to redouble their efforts to contribute their quota to the effective and successful implementation of the MORE agenda of his administration.

Responding on behalf of the newly sworn in Commissioners, the Commissioner for Information, Doctor Ifeanyi Osuoza, expressed appreciation to God and to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for finding them worthy to serve as Commissioners.

He gave an assurance that they would put in their best in the service of the state .
