Kano Honours Best Performing Street Sweepers, Tricycle Riders & PSP

The Kano State government has appreciate and recognise the hard working staff across all cadre, honored best street sweepers, tricycle riders and best private sector partnership (PSP) in the state for their dedication towards environmental sanitation.

In a statement signed by Director Public Enlightenment, Kano state ministry of Environment Ismail Garba Gwammaja quoted the commissioner for Environment Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Getso as Presenting the certificate of commendation, shadda brocade and cash incentives to 3 Street sweepers, 3 tricycle riders and 1 PSP names Baban Bola during the monthly sanitation exercise meeting held in Kano.

The Commissioner said “this is a new innovation introduced by the ministry with a view to improve the performance of the staff on duty regardless of their cadre for others to tighten their belts and do the needful.

Dr Getso further explained that, the awardees was carefully selected base on their track record of services render in different part of the metropolitan roads to sanitize environment and the state at large.

While commenting on their hard work and dedication to their assigned duty post, the commissioner maintained that, his ministry will continue to identify and fish out hardworking staff that excel in their area to be honour every month during the routine monthly meeting for all stakeholders to witness”.

Those honour and recognised as best Street sweepers and best supervisor for the month of August are, Malam Ahmed Haruna sweeper and Sani Adamu who emerged as the best supervisor, others are Kabiru Idris, Yusuf Usman (sarkin ruwa) and Rabiu Abubakar tricycle riders while Alh. Umar Nuhu (Baban Bola) emerged as the best PSP respectively.

“I charged them to reciprocate the kind gesture by been committed and steadfast to their assigned duty”, he urged.

Responding on behalf of the awardees, Alhaji Umar Nuhu Baban Bola expressed their deep appreciation for the honour and for finding them worthy to receive the award and pledge to continue to put in their best to ensure clean and safe environment in Kano.
