Kano House of Assembly Approved Establishment Of KNCDC

The State House of Assembly had today during it’s plenary session received a letter from the Executive Governor Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf requesting the House to consider and subsequently approved the request for the establishment of Kano State Center for Disease Control.

The letter which was addressed to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore and was read in the floor of the House by the Speaker, part of the content of the letter stated that;when established the center would promptly address the prevailing of disease outbreak in the State.
The House received the letter and is undergoing Legislative treatment.

Similarly the House has received a report from the House Standing Committee on Election matters in respect of screening of a nominee Professor Sani Lawan Malumfashi for the appointment as Chairman,Kano State Independent Electoral Commission.

The report which was read by the Majority Leader of the House,Hon Lawan Hussaini Dala, said the committee found the nominee eligible and qualified for the appointment.

Part of the Committee’s recommendations stated that Professor Sani Lawan Malumfashi based on his track records and in accordance with Kano State Independent electoral Law,2001 is qualified for the said appointment.

Later the Majority Leader of the House laid the report before the House.

The House adjourned sitting to tomorrow Tuesday 30/01/2023 in a motion moved by the Majority Leader Hon Lawan Hussaini Dala and was seconded by the Minority Leader,Hon Labaran Abdul Madari.
