In the effort to ensure the wide coverage of HIV Testing Services, the state agency for the control of AIDS in collaboration with Society for Family Health has today organized a comprehensive training package to HTS providers.
The HTS training, which was conducted by trained facilitators and flagged off by the DG Kano State Agency for the Control of AIDS Dr. Usman Bashir, reiterated the need to focus on proper utilization of HIV testing kits and care services to meet the United Nations target of ending HIV by 2030.
In a statement signed by information officer state Agency for the Control of Aids Usman Datti said the training facilitators also explained vividly how to maintain good relationships with clients before, during, and after offering the HIV testing services, adding that the HTS should always be conducted together with TB tests,especially if one is positive.
Making a presentation during the training, Pharm. Salisu Hashim and Sister Aisha Rumfa who are also facilitators of the training reaffirmed the commitment of the agency to provide free HIV testing kits to further boost competency of the participants.
Responding, the Program Manager Society for Family Health Abdullahi Musa Yola expressed appreciation to the effort of DG. KSACA Dr. Usman Bashir for his continued support at all times.
