Kano Shari’a Court requests CP to Investigate Ado Gwanja, Safara’u, Others Over Alleged Immorality

The Kano State Upper Shari’a Court Bichi, presided over by Dr. Bello Musa Khalid has requested commissioner of police, Kano command to conduct an investigation against one Mr 442, Safara,u and 6 other suspected accomplices for allegedly singing different songs which directly call or promote adultery, fornication and immorality that contravened Kano State norms and values

According to the court order, signed by Aminu Muhammad Bichi, Registrar Upper Shari’a Court Bichi, dated 30th August, 2022 and obtained obtained by our Judicial Correspondent, Wednesday, said the order was sequel to the complaint by Barrister Badamasi suleiman Gandu and five other Kano based legal practitioners.

The Suspects Include: Mr 442, Dan Maraya, Amude Booth, Kawu Dan Sarki and Ado Isah Gwanja.

Others are: Murja Ibrahim Kunya, Ummi Shakira, Samha M. Inuwa and Babiyana.

Shedding light to Journalist, Public Relations Officer, Shari’a Court Division, Muzzammil Ado Fagge explained that the Judge decision was predicated on order 12, sub 1 of Kano State Shari’a Court Civil Procedure Rule 2021.

The Complainants include: Muhammad Ali Hamza, Abba Mahmoud, Sanusi I. Umar, and Abba A.T Bebeji.

Others are B.I Usman, Muhammad Nasir, LT Dayi, G.A Badawi and Badamasi Suleiman Gwandu.

They however lodged a Direct Complaint to the Court.

In the petition, Barrister Badamasi Gwandu alleged that Ado Isa Gwanja has been singing different kind of songs, which directly promote or call for fornication.

He also said on 22nd August, 2022 he discovered a new song titled ‘CHASS ASOSA’ but yet to be release (as at that time), According to him, he quickly wrote a petition to Kano State Hisbah and copied to Governor of Kano State, Council of Ulama, Kano State Censorship Board and Shari’a Commission calling on them to take a proper and immediate action in stopping Gwanja from releasing the song.

The Lawyer continued that, Gwanja was invited but allegedly refused to honour the invitation and ran out of the state and released the song.

However, all our efforts to speak with Ado Isa Gwanja or any of the Suspects related to the petition proved abortive.
