KNSG assures it’s commitment to tackle malnutrition



Kano State Ministry for Health Nutrition officer Hajiya Halima Musa Yakasai has re-iterated the commitment of state government towards the fighting malnutrition to the children in the state.

Hajiya Halima Musa Yakasai stated this during the training of trainers workshop organized by the Federal Ministry of Health in conjunction with Kano State Ministry for Health to nutrition officers from the stats of 3 geo-political zones which includes North West, North East and North Central in Kano.

She said, the training required a lot of exercise and practical, mother to child breastfeeding, exclusive breastfeeding, complementary breastfeeding as well as maternal infant and young child nutrition.

Hajiya Halima Musa Yakasai pointed out that, the stepdown training will follow immediately at the state levels with aim to carryout all the necessary things contain the issues of nutrition in the county.

“We are going to involve tertiary institution health workers in Kano we chooses Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital as well as Secondary Healthcare selecting Khalifa Isyaka Rabi’u Pediatric Hospital and from the primary Healthcare in the state we involved Ungogo local government primary Healthcare.” Halima Yakasai added

The state nutrition officer also commended state commissioner for Health Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusuf for his commitment to the success of the training.

She also thank the Parmanent Secretary and Director Public Health and Disease control of the Ministry Hajiya Halima Aliyu Musa and Dr. Ashiru Rajab for their support and cooperation.
