KNSG Orders Management Of MMSH To Vacate A&E Unit


Kano State government has instructed management of Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital to vacate Accident and Emergency unit (A&E) for the renovation work of the Unit.

The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, dropped the hint during an inspection visit to the facility.

In a statement signed by the Assistant Information officer State Ministry for Health Aminu Sani Ali said, Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf gave the much needed attention to the health system of the state in order to provide quality of healthcare to the Kano people.

He further stated that, considering the fact that A&E unit is among the important units in the health facilities that assesses, treats, and stabilizes the patient on emergency case, there is need for it to wear good look at all times.

The Commissioner explained that it is the unit that manages people who come to the hospital with serious illnesses or injuries, noting that special attention must be given to the unit so as to function optimally.

Dr. Labaran commended Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf for his determination to improve the health sector of the state.

The Commissioner appreciated the way the Chief Medical Doctor and his staff are performing their primary responsibilities and the way and manner they keep the hospital clean and tidy.
