KNSG Reinaugurates 33-Member Steering Committee on Education

Kano State Commissioner of education Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa has reinaugurated a 33- member State Steering Committee on education.

It could be recalled that on 9th June, 2022, Partnership for learning for All in Nigeria, a seven year Education Development Programme funded by UK in collaboration with Kano State Ministry of education inaugurated a Steering Committee on Education.

Reinaugurating the committee in his office, Doguwa maintained that the steering committee is aimed at bringing a comprehensive education strategy plan that encompasses all the development partners on education working in the state.

In a statement signed by the Director public Enlightenment state ministry for Education Balarabe Abdullahi the commissioner said the committee would among other things provide strategy oversight on all issues regarding basic and post basic education.

Umar Doguwa maintained that the committee would also oversee the implementation of development partners activities in the state through the Technical Working Group established for that purpose.

“It is obvious that setting this committee will greatly assist in coordinating the activities our partner on Education so as to avoid duplicatation of work ” he stated.”

The Commissioner charged members of the committee to use their experience towards ensuring synergy of work to achieve the target objective.

He revealed that the committee has the Commissioner of education as Chairman while the executive Secretary Kano State Education Development Support will serve as Secretary.

Other members of the committee include Chairman House Committee on Basic Education, Commissioner of Higher education, Planning and Budget, Finance, Women Affairs and Ministry for Local Government.

Among members of the committee according to Doguwa, also include Maigirma Dakajin Kano Alhaji Muhd Aliyu Wudil, representatives of some of the agencies under the ministry as well as developing partners.

Speaking on behalf of the committee members, Alhaji Muhd Aliyu Wudil Dakajin Kano said as members of the committee, they would do possible to discharge their work deligently.
