KNSG spent over 150M for the procurement of free maternal commodities in 2022.

The Kano state government (KNSG) says it has spent over one houndred and fifty million Naira (150M)  for the procurement of free maternal commodities in 2022.

The Director General, Kano state Hospital Management Board Dr. Nasiru Alhassan Kabo made this known during the flag off the distribution of free maternal, accident and emergency commodities for the month of December, 2022.

Dr. Kabo represented by the Director Medical Services for the board Dr. Sulaiman Hamza Mudi said the gesture is part of KNSG efforts in reduce the high rate of material mortality and morbidity in the state.

“From January to December 2022 about 69,677 babies has been delivered in our Hospitals and 5,313 Caesarian Surgery has been performed free of charge” Dr. Kabo said.

The Director General called on wealthy Individuals and Development Partners to continue supporting the noble gesture for the benefit of teeming populace in the state.

He maintained that since 2019 Kano state Health Trust Fund has been supporting this programme with millions of naira.

The Director General called on the end users of the commodities to judiciously use it in an organized manner, he also commended state monitoring committee for their job well done, urged to sustain the tempo.

It may be recall that, Kano state government through state Hospitals management board distributing the commodities every month to its various healthcare centers for the benefit of people especially women and children in the state.
