Kwara Customs Generates N5.9bn, Seizes N11,1m Contraband Goods

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Kwara State Command has generated the sum of five point nine billion naira (N5.9 BN ) between June and October, this year.

The Customs Area Controller, Kwara Command, Comptroller Kehinde Ilesanmi stated this while addressing newsmen on the achievement of the command in Ilorin.

He said the amount generated within the period under review, “surpasses what was generated same period last year 2022 with over three hundred million naira( N 307 million).

According to him the command under the same period recorded 15 seizures which included 352 bags of foreign par boiled rice of 50kg each, and 1, 875 liters of petroleum of 25 liters each in 75 Jerry cans.

Comptroller Ilesanmi said three suspects were arrested during the period under review while the duty paid value (DPV) of the seizure is eleven million naira ( N11 million)

He warned smugglers to steer clear of the state , adding that the command will ensure aggressive patrols to deny them freedom of action.
