The Management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has explained that the low supply being experienced in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States was due to decreased supply from national grid.
In a statement signed by head of corporate communication Unit of the KEDCO Ibrahim Sani Shawai quoted the management as saying that the national grid based on report is currently generating 1, 357MW or a little more and out of that KEDCO is allocated 150MW.
The 150MW is shared amongst the three states in our areas taking into consideration the industrial and residential feeders.
The Management said it had ensured that the 150MW was distributed fairly and justly to ensure that one state does not benefit more than the other.
The statement said however, we are monitoring events keenly to ensure that any improvement from the national grid gets to Kano coverage areas.
While assuring all our esteem customers of improved supply as soon as things get better, we solicit customers’ understanding as the state of supply is not deliberate.
