Plateau state Governor Caleb Mutfwang has signed into law the state’s Electricity Bill Act into law.
The law which is in two components is aimed at revamping all forms of power and regulating the use of same in the State.
The event was held at the Government House, Little Rayfied, Jos.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Governor Caleb Mutfwang said with the signing into law, the Electricity act has now paved the way for the industrialization of the State and other related business activities that would help improve its economy.
Governor Mutfwang therefore called on investors to take advantage of the development to invest in the sector with an assurance that their investment would be fruitful.
Earlier, while providing a synopsis of the bill, State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Philemon Dafi explained that the Executive bill which was segmented into two parts would establish the Plateau State Energy Corporation while the other would cover the aspect of electricity marketing.
The state would now be the fourth in the country to have signed a similar bill into law.
Various stakeholders in the sector witnessed the signing ceremony.
