NGO Donates 1000 Copies Of Holy Qur’an To Govt. Tahfizul Qur’an Sec. Sch. Kiru


Amal International Foundation Malaysia, a Non-governmental organization has donated 1000 copies of the Holy Qur’an to Government Tahfeezul Qur’an Secondary School Kiru as part of its effort to propagate islamic teaching.

Handing over the Holy Books to the State Commissioner of Education Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa at the school’s premises, the Vice President of the foundation Haj. Zulkifulu Bn Bahrun said donation of the Holy Quran was in line with foundation’s activities of propagating islamic teaching across the African countries.

He disclosed that the foundation had planned to further distribute over one million copies of the Holy Qur’an in Africa, stressing that to this end, plan was also completed to distribute 500,000 copies of the Holy Qur’an each to countries like Sudan, Cameroun, Barkinafaso, Chad and Nigeria.

“Out of this one million copies, this foundation plans to distribute 500,000 copies of the Holy Qur”an each to some African Countries like Sudan, Cameroun, Barkinafaso, Chad and Nigeria. Even last year, we distributed 2000 Cows and Goats to empower less privileged within these African Countries ” he highlighted.

Mr. Zulkifulu appreciated Kano State Government support and cooperation towards actualization of the foundation’s goals, saying….. ” let me recognise and appreciate the support given to us by the present administration right from the time we brought this programme to Kano State.”

He assured of the foundation readiness to continue to partner with Kano Government especially on the issue of improving the Tsangaya system of education.

Receiving copies of the Holy Qur’an, the state Commissioner of Education Alhaji Umar Haruna Duguwa thanked the foundation for the kind gesture and reiterated government commitment to work with foundation in boosting islamic education in the state.

In a statement signed by Director public enlightenment state ministry for education Balarabe Abdullahi kiru Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa maintained that, presently, there are over 14 Tsangaya Schools in Kano with over 1000 students learning Qur’anic and science education.

“I want to inform you that because of the population of our dear State, we have more than 10,000 secondary schools in Kano. We also have 14 Tsangaya Schools having 1000 students learning Qur’anic and science education.

” This administration is making concerted effort to modernize our Tsangaya system of education to be the best in northern Nigeria. We therefore look forward to your contribution to this regard ” Doguwa Appealed.

On renovation of Kiru Tahfeezul Qur’an, the Commissioner said a dialogue was ongoing with Amal Foundation for the general renovation of the school, adding that the ministry directed physical planning department to quantify the project for immediate action.

Umar Duguwa further used the opportunity to call on all relevant stakeholders on education to support the state in it’s commitment to revitalize the education sector.
