Nigerians Urged To Keep Money In Banks

Nigerians have been urged to inculcate the habit of keeping their money in Banks to prevent scarcity of naira notes and ensure their security.

The Director National Orientation Agency, (NOA) Kwara state Directorate, Mr. Olusegun Adeyemi made the call while speaking with newsmen in Ilorin.

He said keeping money at home may jeopardize the safety and security of the owner.

Mr. Adeyemi explained that those using the naira notes for business should not make it scarce and caused unnecessary hardship on the common man.

He advised business owners and other Nigerians hording the naira notes to release same into circulation in the interest of the country.

The NOA boss called on the authorities of the Central Bank of Nigeria to use the available information dissemination out lets to educate the general public on its policy on new redesigned naira notes and the deadline for the collection of old notes.

He also appealed to the Apex bank to instruct commercial banks to make naira notes available in their automated teller Machines to ease the hardship customers experienced in accessing their money.
