NOA Director Calls Traditional Institutions to Seek Specific Role in the Nation’s Constitution

The Kano state Director, National Orientation Agency NOA, Alhaji Salisu Waziri has enjoined Traditional Institutions to demand for specific role in the nation’s constitution towards the affairs of governance in the country.

Alhaji Salisu Waziri made the remark weekend at the Turbaning ceremony of thirty five traditional tittle holders conferred by the Village Head of Gadanya in Bagwai Local Government area, Kano State, Kawaji Lawan Muktar Gadanya at his palace.

The NOA Director pointed out that traditional institution is being used as a fire brigade tool by elected and appointed government officials in times of crisis to quench it down in view of their closeness to the people.

Waziri also said most of the Government policies on Agriculture, Education, Health and other important sectors of national life cannot be successful without the contribution of traditional rulers who always enlighten and seek for their people support in that direction.

In his message to the occasion, the former Kano State Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo assured of their readiness to sustain the four newly created Emirates in Kano state by the Ganduje administration.

Garo who is also the All Progressive Congress APC Deputy Gubernatorial candidate pledged to mobilize resources to write a standard history for Gadanya Chiefdom in view of its strategic position in the history of chiefdom in Kano state.

The Deputy Governorship Candidate resented by the chairman of Kabo Local Government, Alhaji Salisu Kabiru Kabo then congratulated then congratulated those turbaned and hope they live above board.

At the occasion, the Chairman of Bagwai Local Government, Alhaji Inuwa Zangina Dangada commanded the village head for the initiative and urged the celebrants to continue to bring development to the area.

Also, the village head, Alhaji Lawan Muktar Gadanya said the turbaning was in appreciation of their contributions to the development of the area in their various capacities.

Responding on behalf of those turbaned, Walin Gadanya, Alhaji Muhammad’s Ridwan Tukur Gadanya promised to justify the confidence reposted in them.

Among the turbans were the chairman Kano State Nigerian Bar Association NBA, Barrister Aminu Sani Gadanya.
