The National Population Commission , NPC in collaboration with the federal ministry of health and other stakeholders have launched the 2023/24 National demographic and health survey NDHS in Ondo state.
The program taking place across the seven hundred and seventy four local government areas in Nigeria was designed to gather information related to health check for Nigerians.
Declaring the event open, NPC Chairman, Mr Nasir Osa-Kwarra explained that highly trained staff deployed would ask questions on fertility preferences, maternity and child health, HIV/AIDS, domestic violence and other health issues.
Represented by the Ondo state director NPC Mr Falusi Oluyemi , Mr Osa-Kwarra said that the NPC was seeking collaboration to provide security for the personnel.
He also disclosed that, the commission already visited traditional rulers and sensitisation programs to educate the people on the exercise.
In a remark , the zonal director NDHS Mr Joseph Ilelaboye said
that twelve staff consisting the Ba-markers,interviewers and drivers would be deployed to each local government in Ondo state for the survey.
The survey which has commenced will climax in April 2024.
