The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Club Owners Association have setup a 5-man Committee to Liaise with the Interim Management Committee (IMC) for a smooth kick off of the new NPFL 2022/2023 season.
According to the Chairman of the Club Owners Association of Nigeria Barrister Isaac Danladi in a circular to all the Clubs, the Committee is to interface with the IMC to ensure that the league kicks off as soon as possible and to finish at a record time to align with the International Football calendar.
The Committee has one week to submit its report to the Association, Danladi said.
Recall that the IMC led by the Chairman Honarable Gbenga Elegbeleye met with the representatives of the participating clubs last week in Abuja where 16 clubs out of 20 voted against the proposed abridged league by the IMC.
The 5-Man Committee of the Club Owners Association is headed by the General Manager of Rivers United Dr. Okey Kpalukwu as Chairman, Malam Abubakar Danfulani of Gombe United, Honarable Tunde Ogunja of Sunshine stars FC and Barrister Frednald Emeka of Rangers as members while the Executive Secretary of the Club Owners Association Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka is to serve as the Secretary.
Meanwhile, the head of operations of the IMC Davidson Owumi is yet to respond to a message by our correspondent on the reported shift in date for the 4- team NPFL Preseason tournament earlier scheduled to hold between 1st to 4th December 2022 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
