Over 20,000 Deliveries Recorded In Govt. Hospital Between April and June 2022 in Kano — Dr Kabo

The Kano state Hospital Management Board says over 20 thousand deliveries recorded from government hospitals in Kano between April and June 2022.

The Director General of the Dr Nasiru Alhassan Kabo announced this during the flag off of the distributions of free maternal and child health services commodities in the state.

He stated that among such deliveries, about Six hundred and Eighty one ceaserian surgeries were performed in different state hospital

Kano represented by the Director, medical services of the Board, Dr Sulaiman Hamza Mudi said it’s no doubt this intervention by the Kano state government is making a lot of inpact on the health of the teeming populace of the state.

” A lot of of lives has been saved through this intervention, a lot of moralities has been abounded as a result of supplying these commodities to both the state primary and secondary healthcare institutions” he added.

He also assured that Kano state government will continue to supply this commodities and support the committee in providing the needed drugs and other consumables for the benefit of the people especially pregnant women, children under five as well as accident and emergency victims.

According to him the committee receives the intervention from Kano state government, state health trust funds and other non governmental organization especially Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI).

He urged members of the committee to redouble their efforts in ensuring the commodities distribution are judiciously utilized by the facilities. He called on people to patronize healthcare facilities in order to reduce cases of maternal mortality rate in the state.

Dr Kabo also called on wealthy people,non governmental organizations to support this gesture by providing materials or financial support to the committee in order to increase the quality of the commodities been provided.

On his part, a member of the committee and also Deputy Director nursing, from the Board, Salisu Umar Durimin Iya described the gesture as a way of reducing high level of maternal mortality and accident cases in the state.

Speaking earlier, Abdulmalik Kabir from Kano health trust funds said KHET Fund donated five million naira for the month of June.

It may recall that, Kano state government through it’s health trust fund every month purchases this commodities for the support of healthcare delivery to pregnant women, children and accident and emergency victims across the state.
