Promote Peace and National Unity – Acting DG NYSC Charge Corps Members

The Acting Director-General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs.Christy Uba, has Charge corps members to be Vanguard of promoting peace, discipline and national unity during and after their service year.
Christy Uba gave the Charge during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2022 Batch ‘C’ Stream 2 corps members held at the NYSC permanent Orientation Camp, Kusalla, Karaye Local Government Area of Kano State.
Represented by the NYSC State Coordinator, Hajiya Aisha Tata Muhammad, the DG urged the corps members to demonstrate high level of discipline and promote national unity.
He encouraged them to avail themselves with the opportunities for self employment offered through the skills acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Program during the three weeks orientation training.
Mrs. Uba urged the corps members to avoid using the social media for spreading fake news, fuelling hatred and other negative purposes, rather they should deploy same avenue for the promotion of national unity and development.
In her remarks, the state coordinator Hajiya Aisha Tata Mohammad represented by the Camp Director Alhaji Bala Dabo said the scheme was designed to equip the corps members for the task of the service year through lessons on the cardinal programmes and leadership coaching.
She enjoined them to avail themselves of the once-in-a-life-time opportunity by participating actively in all the camp activities.
Hajiya Aisha Tata Mohammed implored them to always find time to mediate over its spirit and letters, and be guided by same throughout the service year and beyond.
The Coordinator maintained that 1,136 corps members were registered in the camp out of which 542 we’re males and 594 females.
The ceremony was graced by heads of security agencies and other stakeholders
