Qualitative healthcare services is our priority – ES KSCHMA

Executive Secretary Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency Dr. Rahila Aliyu Mukhtar reiterated Agency’s commitment in providing qualitative healthcare to the enrolees of the scheme.

Dr. Rahila stated this during a two-day workshop and engagement meeting between the management of KSCHMA and Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) on health financing concepts and expansion strategies targeting vulnerable population in Kano State.

In a statement signed by information officer KSCHMA Muhammad Nura Yusuf said the workshop was aimed to sensitize the leadership and management of the Agency to understand health financing priorities and challenges to workout strategies to improve the Contributory Healthcare scheme in the State.

Dr. Rahila Muktar pointed out that, most of the problems facing the enrolees in various health facilities includes poor attitude of health workers, poor sanitation and lack of drugs and consumables which she said it will no longer be tolerated by the agency.

The only executive secretary urged all stake holders to join hand to improve the system for the benefit of people of Kano.

She also called on the beneficiaries enrolled in the Basic Healthcare provision Funds, that access free medical care, to go to their various primary health centres for verification exercise currently going on till 23rd October 2023 for them to continue accessing the services.

Dr. Rahila also urged the Primary Healthcare Centres in charges to be referring beneficiaries of Basic Healthcare Provision Funds (BHCPF) for secondary level of care to utilize the services and avoid wasting the funds provided for that purposes.

Papers were presented at the workshop includes : Kano state Contributory Healthcare Scheme: Overview, implementation, issues and way forward and Overview of Health Financing Concepts and CHAI Health Financing case studies among others by Executive secretary KSCHMA and CHAI representatives.
