Sanitation: Court Orders Building Materials Sellers Association to Evacuate Wood Dust, Fine 100,000

The Kano state Mobile court attached to Kano state central sanitation committee has ordered Building Materials Sellers Association at Yan Katako, Na’ibawa ‘Yan-lemo of Kumbotso local government area to within seven days ensure a full evacuation of heavily accumulated wood dust and fined the association the sum of one houndred thousand Naira (100,000) for defaulting the committee ‘s order.

Majistrate Auwal Yusuf Suleiman ruled that the Na’ibawa ‘Yan-lemo Divisional Police officer and the Kano state ministry of environment to ensure compliance of the order.

The court declared that the action of the association and it’s management is against section 7, 8, 9 and 47 of the Kano state public health law 2019, adding that failure of compliance with the order will attract another fresh and strong sanction.

Meanwhile, the Kano state commissioner for Environment Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Getso has ordered both director pollution and operation at the ministry to ensure a total compliance of the order saying the ministry is always law abiding one.

Kabiru Getso represented by acting permanent secretary at the ministry Dr. Garba Sale said the Kano state central sanitation committee has also visited Yan Kaba motor parks in continuations of the ministry’s environmental sanitations for markets Abattoirs Business premises and government establishments held on every last Friday of the month.

The permanent secretary said a two days abatement noticed was served to some defaulting public conviences at Yan Kaba motor parks to sanitize their premises or action will be taking against anybody found wanting.

Garba Sale then called on the general public in Kano to use this Saturday environmental sanitations excercise in clearing as well as sweeping all their domain to avoiding the spread of communicable diseases, saying anybody found wanting during the exercise a mobile courts will prosecuted them to the full wrath of the law.
