Society of Nigerian Broadcasters Inducts New Members

The Kano state government (KNSG), has charged members of the society of Nigerian broadcasters, to be ethical while discharging their duties.

The State Commissioner of Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye made the call, during the induction of new members of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters, held at Kano NUJ press center.

Halilu Baba Dantiye, who doubles as Chairman of the occasion, explained that,unethical acts and use of abusive or vulgar language, by some broadcasters should be sanctioned.

He pointed out that, government would collaborate with professional bodies, to sanitize the profession, and fish out quacks, who tarnish the image of broadcasters,in the country.

The commissioner, assured the society of the state governments support, on capacity building, to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.

The National Coordinator, Society of Nigerian Broadcasters Mr. Yemisi Bambose stressed that, broadcasters need to have professional bodies such as NBA, ANAN, COREN among others.

He described the Society, as a platform and source of inspiration for both serving and retired broadcasters, adding that, the professional body also serves as a training ground for it’s members.

During the occasion, a veteran broadcaster and former Permanent Secretary Ministry of Information, Alhaji Ahmed Aminu was awarded, and appointed as a patron of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters.

The Kano state acting head of Service, Hajiya Mu’azatu Isa Dutse congratulated the inductees, and expressed delight for having women as members of the professional body of broadcasters.
