National Chairperson, Association against child sexual and gender based violence Amb. (Dr.) Eris Jewo Ibi wants cases of sexual and gender based violence, economic disfranchisement faced by women, children and physically challenged in Nigeria to be looked into.
Amb. (Dr) Eris Jewo Ibi stated this at the fourth annual conference of the association held in Benin city, Edo State.
Speaking on theme of the event, entitled : “Accelerating technology and inclusion,” Amb. (Dr) Eris Jewo Ibi appealed to women to embrace technology as it can good along way in providing economic opportunities, and if properly harnessed, can also be used to report the menace of sexual and gender based violence in the country.
The National Chairperson of the Association, appealed to Government at all levels to provide economic care and support to survival of sexual and gender based violence.
Mrs. Eris Jewo Ibi further called on Government and other stakeholders to involve more women, young people and the physically challenged in governance in other to give them a sense of belonging.
The event was attended by various civil society groups working as a coalition against “sexual and gender based violence” in Nigeria.
