UHC Day: Kano Health Ministry to Enroll IDP’s in KSCHS.

In continuation of the series of activities earmarked to commemorate the 2022 Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day, the State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa has visited Mariri IDP Camp and Nassarawa Childrens Home.

Speaking during the visit, the Commissioner said the purpose of the visit is to enroll the new intakes into the Vulnerable group healthcare Programme under Kano State Contributory Healthcare Scheme (KSCHS) so as to benefit from the program like the older intakes, as approved by governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Dr. Tsanyawa stated that the Governor has special regards to the children of the Internally Displaced Persons Camp, children homes, Torrey home and Persons in the Rehabilitation Centres in the state and has provided funds for their enrollment into the scheme in order to give them access to free Healthcare.

In a statement signed by information, Kano state ministry of health Hadiza Mustapha Namadi quoted the Commissioner as saying that the primary health centres of the homes will be upgraded to provide adequate care to the residing children.

He then thanked the management and staff of the homes for doing their possible best in rendering good services to the children and urged them to maintain the tempo.

In their separate remarks, the Principal of the IDP Camp School and Director Child of the Children Home, Engr. Hassan Z. Haruna and Hadiza Rabiu Shitu respectively, thanked the Commissioner and his entourage for the visit and appreciated their noble gesture.

They commended the efforts of Ganduje led administration for the continuous support at all times to the destitute children, pledging to make judicious use of the items provided to them.

The Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Health, Hajiya Amina Aliyu Musa, Executive Secretary of KSCHMA Dr. Halima Muhammad Mijinyawa and Directors from the ministry and agency were in the entourage of the Commissioner.

Items supplied to the IDP College and Childrens Home included food items, sweaters, snacks, soaps, detergents, Slippers and many more.

Similarly in another development the State Commissioner of Health on Friday Commissioned Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Liaison office in Ungogo L.G.A.

He stated that the Liaison offices have been created in all 44 LGAs in the state in order to make it easier for the people of the state in terms of enrollment and enquiry without having travelled all the way to the head office of the Agency.

The liaison officers were handed equipment that will enable them to discharge their duties successfully. The equipment include laptops, tablets, printers and many more.
