We’ll Pass Kano 2023 Budget Before January — Hamisu Chidari

The Kano State House of assembly has assured that the 2023 fiscal documents would be passed into Law before the end of year 2022, so that implementation will commence by first day of January, 2023.

The speaker of the assembly Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari stated this while receiving Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who was at the assembly to present the 2023 Appropriation Bill.

He said the House will swung into action to pass the 2023 Budget in good time to help the state keep to its January December Budget circle.

“This shall be done without compromising rules and established traditions for through scrutiny and engagement with all identified relevant stakeholders”.

Chidari also said the House is aware of the devastating shortfall in revenue, statutory transfer and other receipts that will finance the 2023 budget.

He further said through the discharge of their legislative oversight responsibilities as provided under section 129 of the constitution, they were able to deduce the tremendous achievement recorded in 2022 Budget, particular in the areas of the infrastructural development, healthcare services youth and women empowerment program and a host of other which we believe have made significant impact on the lives of the good people of Kano State and called on MDA’S to prepare for budget Defence before various committees of the assembly.
