We’re Ready To Support Epidemiologist For Qualitative Healthcare Services – Dr. Labaran

Kano state government has assured it’s commitment to work with stakeholders to improve qualitative healthcare services in the state.
The state commissioner for health Dr. Abubakar Labaran  Yusuf stated this during the Press briefing on the commemoration of 2023 world epidemiology field day.
He said the theme of this year’s day “observation increasing Diversity, Equality and inclusion in field Epidemiology” is in line with Kano state health agenda for sustainable development.
The commissioner represented by the state program manager Tuberculosis and Leprosy control Dr. Ibrahim Gano said the present administration of Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf extended the healthcare service to remote across the state to ensure Urban and Rural populations have equal access to healthcare services.
“Our field Epidermally learning, innovations and skills are being put into use for good people of the state. You are aware of our concerted effort and united response to the Diphtheria outbreak in Kano as well as many other Disease outbreaks”. The commissioner said.
Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf further said, Kano state government is aware of training, program in health Epidemiology and public health intervention network and taskforce for global health aims to improve state collective public health response to disease outbreak, increase healthcare delivery, bridge human resource for health gaps as well as improvement in health promotion and research.
The commissioner also congratulated the  Epidemiology and Disease control Association of Nigeria for choosing to partner with Kano state government through Ministry for Health for the collaboration.
Speaking earlier, Muhammad Sulaiman Hafiz Head of Department Epidemiology and Disease control School of Hygiene Kano spoke at length the significant of the field for healthy society for over hundreds of years ago.
In his welcome address state chairman of the Epidemiology and Disease control Association of Nigeria comrade Abubakar Ibrahim Maiyaki said the association was established in 2014 with aimed at the public communicable and noncommunicable diseases.
