We’ve Evacuated Over 2,300 Tones of Refuse in Three Weeks, Commend Stakeholders — Env. Comm.

The Kano state government says a total of 1,471 trips (that is 2,323 tones) of refuse were evacuated from over 40 designated collection centers in metropolis within the three weeks.

In a statement signed by the chief public relations officer, Kano state ministry of Environment Sanusi Abdullahi Kofar Na’isa quoted the Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Getso as disclosing this during a closing of a final daily review meeting for the exercise held in Kano

He commended all the stakeholders of the three-week, massive refuse evacuation programme tagged ” Keep Kano Clean Week, 2022 ,” embarked upon by the Kano state government for their hard work and sacrifice.

Dr. Getso described the programme as a huge success, thanking all stakeholders, especially private construction companies, Ministry of Works and infrustructure, WRECA, KNUPDA, KARMA and the State Tipper Drivers Association for their various contributions towards the success of the exercise.

He further commended members of the “State Central Working Committee on “Keep Kano Clean, 2022” for their dedication and commitment by giving their best during the gigantic project.

The Commissioner described the perseverance, dedication and commitment of members of the committee as a driving factor that led to the success of the exercise.

He urged them not to relent, whenever they are called upon, to support the Ministry and the State in general to deliver its mandate, Noting with appreciation for the good people of the State for their support and cooperation to the government, adding that the exercise was meant to safeguard the health and wellbeing of Kano residents.
