Yobe State Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (YODMA) has begun the training of its technical staff on score card development.

The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Mr Abdulazeez Mohammed, made the disclosure during the opening of a four-day workshop organized to boost the capacity and performance of its 22 technical staff in Damaturu, the State Capital.

He explained that the units and individual score cards were critical in measuring productivity.

“ Basically we are a result oriented agency; this means we have to track the performance of staff that aggregates the whole agency.

“ We discovered that at the collective level we are making progress, but at individuals levels, the performance and accountability are really not there because some people don’t understand their functions.

“ We felt the best thing to do is to bring down performance monitoring system down to individual and units levels and develop a score card for each individual to engender accountability and transparency,” he said.

Mohammed announced that the state had received 11 awards for being outstanding in drugs supply chain management at the 5th Africa Procurement and Supply Chain Summit and Awards in Lagos.

The executive secretary said the awards presented by various critical stakeholders was not unconnected to team work and the 83 percent 2023 performance score of the agency.

In his remarks, , the Agency’s Deputy Director, Quality Assurance Production and Control Alhaji Kalli Lawal, noted that YODMA is run as a business firm even though it is a public enterprise.

He charged the trainees to redouble their efforts in order to achieve the vision and mission of the agency.
