Zamfara Ant-thuggery Committee Arrests Tsafe Local Govt Secretary, Nine Others Over Political Thuggery

The Zamfara State Anti Thuggery Committee has arrested Tsafe local government Secretary, and nine others who commits various offences during a political rally held in Gusau.

Parading the suspects, the Anti Thuggery Chairman, Bello Muhammed Bakyasuwa
said, the committee is standing on the existing law, executive order no,2. of the state that gave them the mandate to fight any act of thuggery, drugs abuse and other criminal related offences.

According to him, in the course of their duty during the one million man match, they monitored the rally to see if at all people complied with the existing order of the committee, but unfortunately they encounterd with those that refused to comply and arrested them.

Bakyasuwa added that, some of the suspects were arrested at the government house gate carrying dangerous weapons, and among them is the Secretary of Tsafe local government council.

According to him In an effort to arrest them, their personnel sustained serious injuries and have been hospitalized at Yariman Bakura Specialists Hospital.

Bakyasuwa added that, this will not stop them from doing their best in countering any act of thuggery in the state, and they would do justice to evey one, so as to bring maximun security the state needed.

The chairman reveal that, during their investigations they released those that were innocent, and detained ten of them including the council secretary adding that, some highly placed politicians had called him over the arrest but he transferred the case to police for investigation and prosecution to serve as deterent to others.

Bakyasuwa, appealed to youth and politicians to stop carrying weopons during campaign, and the politicians should advised their loyalists on the dangers of carrying dangerous weapon during and after campaigning
